What is FolkVirsa?
FolkVirsa is a music streaming app where you can stream folk music from countries like Pakistan, India, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Iran. Our focus is folk music from Gilgit, Baltistan and Chitral regions of Pakistan.
Who owns it?
FolkVirsa was started by Imran Ahmed Hunzai and Fareed ud Din along with fellows at Centangle Interactive. The app is owned and operated by Centangle Interactive, which is an Islamabad-based digital media agency.
Is music streaming free?
Yes, all music on FolkVirsa is currently free to stream on as much devices as you want.
Where can I download the mobile apps?
We are working on Android as well as an iOS app for FolkVirsa. The Android app is expected to launch in October 2017 while iOS app is expected to launch in July 2018.
Why do I see promoted songs?
FolkVirsa requires a good amount of time and financial resources to keep going. In order to support the project, we accept a limited number of promoted content that you might see from time to time on the website. This also helps us to bring you new content on a regular basis.
